This article will help you make a group by typing in students' names via your Send Message 'To' field. This route of creating a group is best for smaller groups.
Step 1: Go to the Send Message page. Type the names of the students' whose contacts you wish to communicate by way of the group that you are about to create. You can add in as many names as you wish to include in the group.
⭕ NOTE: The Create Group button at the bottom of the page will be gray until you populate the To Parents field with names. Remember, you can search by student or parent.
Step 2: Once you are finished adding names, click on the 'Create group' button.
Step 3: Type the name of your new group and click the Save button.
Step 4: You can now message this group. Type the name of the group in the To parents field.
Step 5: Send a message to the group.
⭕ NOTE: You can access your new group via the Groups directory. You can always add or remove students from the group once it has been created.
🔶 PROTIP: Create groups of students who might need additional support. This will remind you to send their parents resources and positive reinforcement! For example, you can create a group of students who are frequently late or absent. In our example here, we created a group of students who need additional homework support.
